Charity4Education Fashion Show Event

Decided to start a couple new projects that I’m pretty passionate about. Check back often or subscribe in one click (to your right…no your other right) to stay updated on progress and multiple ways to get involved.

Project: Charity Fashion Show for Education

Background: Charlotte, and basically every other city, has had to undergo major budget cuts during this recession. One of the budgets that has been hit most obviously are for schools. Now, if you know me, you know I’m a big advocate for education and mentoring programs. I think there is an issue with “kids raising kids” and not being able to provide for their children as well as they would like to or should. The encouragement to stay in school and continue on to higher education (whether it may be community, junior, or university) is my primary focus. Not sure if I’m ripping off some company for their slogan when I say this, but I honestly do believe that re-investing in the children for their future is one of the best uses for our money. Creating programs that will provide guidance for them to become actual leaders with the ability to be assured in themselves and to create a successful future for themselves is an investment that should top most other priorities. It doesn’t take more than common sense to figure out that by letting these children go astray, without positive mentors in the shape of parents, siblings, teachers, counselors, or whatever, they will continue the cycle of detriment and downfall that is receiving an increase in attention and prevalence today.

Current Tasks:

Promoting the event to gain more fashion industry individuals involved.
Emailing the Char-Meck Board of Education to gain support and find out the best ways to help (donations, school supplies, etc.).
Emailing local organizations focusing on similar causes to rouse community support and sponsorship.

Individuals for the planning committee, please send me an email by clicking here.

Models – I am looking for 20 female and at least 5 male models. I will contact you for auditions via email at least 1 week prior to the audition. Everyone who has noted they are interested will receive an email. If you do not have any or the correct measurements in your profile, please add/fix them.

Clothing Designers/Stylists – I am looking for approximately 10 designers for this fashion show. The style is very diverse so any and all apply.

Photographers – I need at least 3 photographers to cover this event. I will need a behind-the-scenes photographer and 2 photographers shooting the show. Attendance at at least 1 rehearsal will be necessary so we can have mini-shoots for models in some of the clothing to provide a preview.

MUA/Hair – I need individuals to provide hair and make-up for the models backstage. Attendance at rehearsals are optional, but if present would be an opportunity to add beauty images.

Please send an email by clicking here and add a link to your portfolio or any images of it.

I will have a website dedicated to the fashion show and the educational benefit up and running soon so check back often for updates.

I will be updating this blog with what I am currently working on for this event. Interested in helping with current tasks, just email me! 🙂
